taking things for granted..

I've heard people say
God doesn't perform miracles anymore
That He doesn't care for us
Like He did before
When I awoke this morning
I was able to get out of bed
I had a mind to give thanks
Plan my day ahead
So many didn't wake up
Tomorrow is no guarantee
If God opened your eyes this morning
Thats a miracle to me


When I look out my window
I thank God for my sight
There are many who cannot see
A world with no glimmer of light
I thank Him for each footstep
For that means I can walk
I can breathe, I can laugh
God gives me the ability to talk
Some have their eyes wide open
And still they don't see
That all these things we take for granted
Are all miracles to me


There are many in hospitals
Who have to be tube fed
They lay there day after day
They can't get out of bed
God's given me the strength
To eat the foods I love
To have a roof over my head
Is a blessing from above
I don't take anything for granted
A flower, a sunset, a tree
All these things God freely gives us
Are all miracles to me
